Good news story: David Fable becomes national sales manager after Michael Pachota moved up from the role to become general manager (automobiles) for Suzuki Australia.

SUZUKI Australia has promoted Western Australia state manager David Fable to national sales manager, filling the vacancy created in September when Michael Pachota was appointed general manager of the Japanese brand’s automobiles division.

Mr Fable has worked for Suzuki since 2011, starting as a district sales manager in WA before stepping up in 2014 as sales manager for the entire state.

He was previously regional sales manager (WA/SA) for American all-terrain vehicle specialist Polaris Industries, while earlier in his career served for almost two years as fleet and special markets manager for Nissan Australia.

A Suzuki Australia spokesperson has advised that the company will soon begin recruiting for a new WA state manager.

The company said in a statement that Mr Fable brings to the role “more than 17 years of business development, sales and account management experience in the motor trade industry”.

In announcing the appointment, Mr Pachota said: “David’s vast amount of industry knowledge and experience has led him to achieve outstanding results within our WA dealer network and perfectly positions him to steer our national sales team through this new era of growth.

“David has developed excellent relationships with our network of WA dealers and I look forward to seeing this evolve to a national level, providing an even greater level of support to both our dealers and customers.

“David will be a much-welcome and crucial member of our team and add even further momentum to the exciting future ahead for Suzuki Australia.”

As GoAuto has reported, Mr Pachota was himself promoted to general manager when Andrew Moore left the company in September to become the new managing director of Renault Australia, replacing Justin Hocevar who left earlier that month.

Mr Moore had overseen Suzuki’s automobiles division for three years, initially as general manager but becoming a director of the company earlier this year.
