SUZUKI in the UK has introduced a 10-year warranty program for loyal customers who use its franchised dealer network for servicing.
Under the innovative program, Suzuki owners will have their warranty extended each time their car is serviced by a Suzuki dealer. The warranty extension is renewed after each subsequent service but expires after 10 years.
The new warranty supersedes the seven-year cover that has been in place in the UK since 2023.
Launching to its UK and Republic of Ireland customers on May 11, Suzuki Service Activated Warranty is offered once the vehicle reaches the end of its manufacturer warranty period of three years / 60,000 miles and is booked in for its next scheduled service within the Suzuki dealer network. This warranty, which covers major components for risk of premature failure, stays in place until the next qualifying service and is then simply renewed again up to a maximum vehicle age of 10 years or 100,000 miles (160,000km), whichever comes first.
In Australia, Suzuki Australia general manager of automotive, Michael Pachota, said Suzuki UK’s warranty extension “was a new initiative that was created and executed solely by Suzuki UK.”
He said it was too early to make a decision about the extended warranty for Australian buyers but said it could be considered.
Suzuki UK said the warranty was transferable and that Suzuki dealerships could even “apply the warranty to a Suzuki vehicle that has been purchased privately or has a gap in its dealer service history when it comes in for service.”
Its director of aftersales, Denis Houston, said the extended warranty was introduced to ensure customers “get the best levels of service, fitment of genuine parts and avail of the expertise within our dealer network rather than going to a non-franchised repairer once their manufacturer warranty expires.”
“Offering Service Activated Warranty free of charge for both UK and Irish customers is something we are very proud to offer as a strong message,” he said.In the UK, Suzuki has won several industry accolades in recent years, most recently for its customer feedback strategy at the UK Customer Satisfaction Awards (UKCSI) and follows a category win two years ago when Suzuki took off the ‘trusted quality provider’ category.
It was also ranked the number-1 automotive brand in UK CSI eight times since 2019 in the bi-annual index.
