THE Alto Group has opened its new Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) showroom in Artarmon on the site of its former Ford dealership.

Alto Jaguar and Alto Land Rover, at 405 Pacific Highway, is a new 1253 square metre showroom capable of parking up to 18 cars.

Managing director, Anthony Altomonte, said the previous Ford showroom was demolished to make way for the new JLR outlet, though the workshop remains.

The design of the new building – which cost $7 million for the building alone – replicates JLR’s global corporate identity.

He said the location was ideal for the franchise.

“North Shore of Sydney is very affluent,” he said. “It is one of the largest luxury PMAs in Australia.”

It is Alto Group’s first JLR franchise and dovetails with the company’s other prestige brand, Audi.

The showroom features a cafe, children’s area, a quiet waiting room and free wi-fi.

It will employ 55 people – which is a 30 per cent increase in staff from the previous business and the dealer principal is George Severino.
