EAST-coast dealership group Autopact has expanded across Rockhampton to buy the Rockhampton Auto Group, adding two sites and three new franchises to its portfolio.

The purchase was made through Autopact’s DC Motors, which has been a fixture in the  Queensland town for 60 years.

Rockhampton Auto Group gives Autopact the LDV and MG franchises for the first time. It also has Volkswagen sales and service, and Skoda service and its Rocky Autos used-car premises.

DC Motors dealer principal Sheamus O’Reilly told GoAutoNews Premium that he will also manage the Rockhampton Auto Group businesses. Autopact has a policy of maintaining dealer ownership in its businesses.

Autopact, which bought DC about four years ago, now has 28 dealerships in NSW, Victoria and Queensland.

Mr O’Reilly said the purchase of Rockhampton Auto Group was part of its strategy of growth through acquisition with the latest purchase giving Autopact three branches in the town and 112 staff.
