Bill Peffer heads to Maserati

MASERATI has named former Nissan Australia CEO Bill Peffer as CEO of Maserati North America.

He comes to Maserati after spending only one week in the position of COO and executive vice-president of Kia Motors America.

Mr Peffer will run all Maserati operations for the US and Canada – which has 129 dealerships – and will report to Maserati’s chief commercial officer Bernard Loire. Loire has been with Maserati since January 2020.

Mr Peffer replaces Al Gardner, who left Maserati in August and later joined Atlantic Coast Automotive Group as vice-president.

At Kia, Mr Peffer had been promoted in December from vice-president of sales operations. He started the COO job on January 1 and resigned on January 7.

He joined Kia in July 2017 as vice-president of sales after coming from New England-based dealership group Balise Motor Sales, where he was president.

Before joining Balise, he worked for 10 months as the head of sales at Cadillac.

He was also CEO of Nissan Australia from 2012 to 2013 and had previously worked for Ford Motor Company.
