ACCOUNTING and advisory firm BDO has appointed two experienced ex-Deloitte Motor Industry Services (MIS) partners, Grant Cameron and Sam Venn, to its automotive specialty unit.

BDO national leader for automotive Mark Ward said the latest appointments in Sydney and Melbourne bring together nationally the most experienced industry advisors at a time when the pace of change has never been greater.

“We look forward to helping our clients navigate those changes together,” he said.

Grant Cameron

Grant Cameron joins BDO Sydney after leading Deloitte’s MIS team for nine years, and spending over 25 years working with Australian and international dealers.

He said that: “Retail motor dealers must have access to specialised, independent and uncompromised advice.”

“There are several current issues dealers are facing, and BDO’s national dealer only team is best placed to competently assist.

“Automotive retail dealers are at the heart of BDO’s automotive offering, and we are energised by their focus to deliver good old fashioned service on a timely and proactive basis.”

Sam Venn

Sam Venn joins BDO after focusing on retail dealers at Deloitte’s MIS team. He will lead the BDO automotive team in Melbourne.

“After a career dedicated to working exclusively with Australian dealers, challenges in the automotive industry meant the timing was right to move to an environment that focuses wholly on dealers,” Mr Venn said.

“As Mark has pointed out change has never been as fast or as broad, connecting our specialisation across these key geographies enables us to maximise the value we add to our clients.”
