MAJOR South Australian Toyota group CMI Toyota has opened its Christies Beach dealership after a redevelopment that took more than three years.

The beachside dealership located just north of McLaren Vale, was bought by CMI in 1997 as a strategic expansion into Adelaide’s rapidly growing southern district. It represents a substantial project that includes a new service centre and a completely redesigned interior.

In light of Toyota adding its first production EV to the model range, the dealership includes EV charging facilities and additional car parking space.    CMI said that “the brand-new, state-of-the-art Toyota dealership, located at 150 Beach Road, Christies Beach, has been built with our customers in mind, offering modern amenities and comforts.”

The building has a new service department with an undercover driveway; a guest lounge where customers can enjoy complimentary coffee, tea and newspapers and workstations with free WiFi; an extensive new showroom over two floors to showcase “South Australia’s largest range of Toyota vehicles as well as a range of classic Toyotas”; and the additional car parking space.

It also includes an internal car lift, electric vehicle charging stations, a new state-of-the-art scratch free car wash, and an elevated viewing window from the service lounge into the workshop so customers can watch their vehicle being serviced.

CMI Toyota Christies Beach general manager, Regan Anderson said the building showcases the company’s renowned customer service.

“The team and I are extremely proud of the new dealership, and it’s been wonderful to see how impressed our customers are as soon as they drive into the dealership,” Mr Anderson said in a statement.

“It’s certainly come a long way since the CMI Group purchased the dealership in 1997 and I know that our customers will continue to receive the outstanding service that they have come to expect from our amazing Christies Beach team.”

Christies Beach is one of three CMI Toyota dealerships (it also has a satellite service centre in Stepney) in South Australia.
