MAJOR Australian listed vehicle retailer Peter Warren Automotive has appointed former Audi Australia managing director Andrew Doyle as its new CEO.

He replaces Mark Weaver, who will leave Peter Warren (PWR) at the end of this financial year for other business pursuits.

Mr Doyle, who starts in his new CEO position at PWR no later than November 2024 after returning to Australia from the UK, moved from Audi Australia after four years to become the managing director of Audi UK in March 2017.

PWR has appointed Paul Warren as interim CEO until Mr Doyle starts. Mr Warren is currently executive director.

An Australian with more than 30 years of automotive experience in Australia and overseas, Mr Doyle was most recently managing director of Audi UK (a position he held for seven years) and managing director of Audi Ireland (three years).

PWR said that his extensive OEM experience was supplemented by his retail knowledge including his oversight of the largest Audi dealership in Australia.

He started his career with BMW Australia and BMW Canada and holds degrees in social science and economics from Melbourne University plus a postgraduate degree in marketing from Monash University.

PWR chair John Ingram said: “The board is delighted to appoint a person of Andrew’s calibre.

“Andrew is known in Australia as a trusted, respected and experienced automotive chief executive. The board is confident that he is the right person to lead our people and build upon the growth that the business has achieved to date.

“On behalf of the board, we welcome Andrew and look forward to working with him.”

Mr Doyle said: “I am very excited to take up the leadership of Peter Warren as it continues its growth path at an exciting time for the industry.

“From a distance, I have admired the group’s achievements and I am enthusiastic to build on those. I will be relocating to Australia with my family and I look forward to meeting and working with the talented team who have achieved so much.”
