EAGERS Automotive has added its sixth Hino dealership to its network with the opening of Canberra Hino on the site previously occupied by the Toyota franchise.

The renovated dealership features a 200 square metre indoor showroom, an additional five service bays, a parts warehouse with an increased capacity of 4000 square metres and a dedicated wash bay.

Hino Australia said the expansion was welcomed as Canberra was considered an important market.

Hino Australia’s president and CEO Richard Emery said Canberra residents, businesses and government departments were renowned for their commitment to the environment “so we expect our 300 Series Hybrid Electric light-duty truck to be extremely popular.”

Mirko Milic

Eagers has appointed Mirko Milic as dealer principal. Mr Milic has almost 20 years experience as a dealer principal, most recently at Canberra Toyota and Lexus.

Mr Milic said the new dealership was centrally located on the former site of Canberra Toyota in Fyshwick.

“Canberra Toyota is well-known in the local community for its commitment to customers and after-sales service,” he said

“This ethos forms the foundation of our culture at Canberra Hino where our team combines excellent Hino sales, parts and service knowledge with a skilled and experienced management team.

“Personally, I’ve enjoyed my return to the Hino family and the trucking industry – I loved my 10 years as general manager of Tory Hino and have more recently been a shareholder in a competing truck brand,” he said.

Eagers has an additional four Toyota sites in Canberra – Gungahlin, Belconnen, Fyshwick and Phillip.

Hino Australia’s national dealership network now comprises 65 sales and service centres.
