Experience counts: Elena Woods will be in charge of corporate communications at Renault Australia while Emily Fadeyev is on maternity leave, while also managing special projects at the French brand.

RENAULT Australia has announced the appointment of Elena Woods as special projects and corporate communications manager.

This is a newly created role that hands Ms Woods responsibility for corporate comms while Emily Fadeyev is on maternity leave, but also ensures she remains heavily involved in a broad range of projects in which the Australian arm of the French brand is involved.

For the past four years, Ms Woods has held a number of positions at the company, including senior model line manager for electric vehicles and sales and marketing manager for Australia, New Zealand, Tahiti and New Caledonia.

Most recently, she has served as senior model line manager for the passenger product portfolio, overseeing project management of all vehicles in this division which includes passenger vehicles, SUVs, EVs and Alpine.

“‘Special projects’ does mean that I will continue to be heavily involved in EV as well as other strategic sub-brands within Renault Australia – including, but not limited to, Renault Sport,” Ms Woods told GoAuto this week.

Ms Woods previously worked for Renault in Europe, including three years as a global electric vehicle product manager in France, where she managed the launch of the Zoe and Fluence ZE.

Prior to that she worked for Renault in the UK for more than five years across various roles, including product manager for Megane and commercial planning.

Ms Fadeyev commences her maternity leave on September 24.
