SKILLS shortages are to be reduced following the approval of NSW government funding for a range of Certificate II and III automotive courses.

MTA NSW said the funding, which can reduce the cost of courses by 80 per cent,  has become available following the association’s successful lobbying efforts through its budget submission.

The Motor Traders’ Association of NSW (MTA NSW) is now calling all automotive professionals and trainees to take advantage of new government funding for these automotive courses.

The MTA NSW said it had secured partial government funding for a range of Certificate II and III automotive courses, following successful lobbying efforts through its NSW State Budget submission.

Eligible students can receive up to 80 per cent off – up to $2000 – on select courses through the ‘Entitlement Funding Qualification.’

The MTA NSW said the initiative aimed to address the automotive industry’s skills shortage, particularly in areas such as auto electrical, which is highly sought after – and placed high on Australia’s skilled occupation list.

The courses are open to everyone, and not exclusive to MTA members. However, the funding is limited and interested applicants must enrol by Thursday June 20 to take advantage of the substantial discounts.

MTA NSW CEO Stavros Yallouridis said: “These discounted courses provide an exceptional opportunity for those who are aspiring to join the automotive industry, as well as seasoned professionals who want to expand their skills.”
