NSW automotive business Heartland Motor Group has launched Sydney’s biggest Kia dealership with the Blacktown Kia showroom this month opening for business.
It was opened earlier this month by Kia Australia CEO Damien Meredith and Heartland team including CEO Kieran Turner and COO Anthony Turner. The stand-alone dealership, on a 2ha site in Blacktown’s Sunnyholt Road has a 63m frontage and features a new showroom abutting an existing service workshop.
The site was previously a Holden dealership, and originally a bakery, with the Kia franchise taking over in mid-2021.
Dealer principal Lee Pitcock said the dealership now sports that latest CI – including the showroom’s distinctive light beams – extensive wood panelling with timber furnishings including tables and chairs, and an open-plan design to showcase multiple new vehicles in the showroom.
The dealership retains a workshop at the rear with a new service foyer and customer area.
Heartland is one of Sydney’s oldest dealer groups. The family-owned business started in 1966 in Boyded Parramatta and now has nine locations and 11 brands including Kia, Hyundai, Mitsubishi, Suzuki, Jeep, MG, KGM SsangYong, JAC Motors, LDV, Chery Motors and Mahindra.
In the 1960s, the company expanded to 13 dealerships and took on several equity partners, before Heartland Motor Group was formed in July 2001 as a consolidation of West City Holden, John Young Holden, Boyded Holden (the original Fair Deal site) and Windsor Road Holden.
Heartland underwent ownership restructures that resulted in the Heartland operations being wholly owned by the Webb family.
The board of directors now comprises members of the Webb family. The current CEO, Kieran Turner, is the grandson of the founder, Bernie Webb.
In the past year, Heartland has also opened new showrooms in NSW for its Hyundai, Mahindra, SsangYong, JAC Motors, Chery Motors and MG franchises.
