HYUNDAI Motor Company Australia (HMCA) has revealed and recognised its top-performing dealers of 2020 at its annual Platinum Dealer Program Awards with Ferntree Gully Hyundai in Victoria claiming top honours as the Platinum Dealer of the Year.

According to the brand, being recognised as a Hyundai Platinum Award winner “is one that is revered by the Hyundai network, highly regarded by their peers and guarantees customers an assurity and confidence in an organisation that is proud of the Hyundai heritage and focused on outstanding behaviours”.

In addition to the overall prize, HMCA’s awards are broken down into a series of regional awards and category prizes with Ferntree Gully Hyundai also taking out the Southern Regional Award.

Starting in the west and heading across, the other regional award winners included Maddington Hyundai (WA), Murray Bridge Hyundai (SA), Brendale Hyundai (QLD) and Paul Wakeling Hyundai (NSW).

As for the category awards, Victorian dealerships Werribee Hyundai and Wangaratta Hyundai were named the winners of the ‘Best Retail Achievement’ prize, Essendon Hyundai (VIC) and Clarkson Hyundai (WA) were awarded the ‘Best Wholesale Achievement’ whereas Northside Hyundai (QLD) and Murray Bridge Hyundai (SA) won the ‘Best Market Share’ award, rounding out the sales category.

In the aftersales category, Pennant Hills Hyundai (NSW) and Pacific Hyundai (QLD) won the ‘Best Parts Sales’ award while Jefferson Hyundai (VIC) and Harrison Hyundai (VIC) were recognised with the ‘Best Accessories Sales’ prize.

In terms of profitability, Blood Hyundai (VIC) and Tamworth Hyundai (NSW) took out the ‘Best ROS/Finance’ and ‘Penetration/Insurance’ awards.

Hyundai Hobart Motors (TAS) and Young Hyundai (NSW) meanwhile claimed the ‘Best Sales NPS’ title in terms of customer service as Dandenong Hyundai (VIC) and Black Hyundai Warwick (QLD) won the ‘Best Service NPS’ prize.

Following on from the category awards are the ‘Special Awards’ which focus exclusively on sales.

Clarkson Hyundai (WA) was revealed to have had the ‘Highest Private and Business Sales’ in 2020 whereas Mackay Hyundai (QLD) had the ‘Highest Retail SUV Sales’.

Camden Valley Hyundai (NSW) won the ‘Highest ‘N’ Model Sales’ award while Pennant Hills Hyundai (NSW) had the ‘Highest Santa Fe Sales’.

McGrath Hyundai (NSW) and Gold Coast Hyundai (QLD) were also given special recognition for having the ‘Highest Private Business and Demonstrator Sales’ and ‘Highest Retail SUV’ performance respectively.

“It is with great pride that we recognise these high-performing dealerships and thank them and their staff for their ongoing commitment to the Hyundai brand and our mutual customers,” HMCA network development general manager Hugo Acosta said in special bulletin to the brand’s dealer network.

“Our sincere congratulations to all Platinum Award winners; please enjoy the kudos and respect in achieving the recognition as a Hyundai Platinum Program winner for 2020.”

HMCA sold 64,807 new vehicles last year and was one of many brands to be impacted negatively by the coronavirus pandemic.

For reference, the brand shifted 86,104 vehicles in 2019, marking a 24.7 per cent sales dip in 2020.
