IM MOTORS has announced a new collaboration with Jimmy Choo, launching a new limited edition model in China incorporating several of the high-end fashion designer’s bespoke touches.

The IM L6 x Prof. Jimmy Choo Bespoke Limited Edition has been designed for the Chinese market, and while there are no plans for an Australian release, the model on which it is based can be purchased Down under as the IM5.     With the high-end fashion designer appointed as “Haute Couture Design Master” for the collaboration, a bespoke blue interior – inspired by blue satin shoes designed by Jimmy Choo for Princess Diana – headlines the special edition model’s features.

Crystal-inspired exterior and interior detailing, crystal-look camera covers, and bespoke blue brake callipers are also listed among the additions.

Images of the limited edition vehicle also reveal further features including (but not limited to) Jimmy Choo exterior badging, inscriptions on the door sills, and lettering printed on seat headrests and dashboard.

These unique additions have each been inspired by Jimmy Choo’s “signature aesthetic and his connection to the world of high fashion” according to the brand.

MG Motor Australia’s marketing director Dimitri Adreatidis

IM Motors was founded in late December of 2020, but it wouldn’t be until 2025 before the brand would arrive on Australian shores as MG’s luxury electric vehicle brand, with its line-up currently comprising the electric IM5 fastback sedan as well as the mid-size IM6 SUV. While there are no current plans to bring the Jimmy Choo Bespoke Limited Edition to Australia, MG Motor Australia’s marketing director Dimitri Adreatidis says the collaboration offers a glimpse into the direction of the IM Motors brand.

“The IM5 and IM6 introduces Australian customers to a very different approach to premium electric mobility, where technology and performance are matched by design, individuality and a real sense of personality.”

“What’s particularly exciting is seeing how quickly IM continues to evolve globally. Not every product developed for one market will necessarily make its way to another, however collaborations like this give us a fascinating glimpse into where the brand is heading and the breadth of thinking behind the products we are bringing to Australia,” he said.
