Fresh focus: Ryan Lewis has worked on various motoring publications and media platforms over the past decade and will now manage media relations and product communications for Mercedes-Benz Cars in Australia.

MERCEDES-BENZ Cars Australia/Pacific has hired experienced motoring journalist Ryan Lewis as manager of media relations and product communications.

As GoAuto has reported, the position at the German prestige car manufacturer became available after a restructure in September that saw the public relations department split into two divisions –external affairs and corporate communications, led by David McCarthy, and media relations and product communications, with Jerry Stamoulis at the helm.

Mr Lewis will report to Mr Stamoulis when he takes up the new job in the New Year.

“Ryan’s experience within various media publications over the past 10 years in an ever-changing industry will be a welcome addition to the team,” Mr Stamoulis said in an email this week.

The other key member of the team is Matthew Pasiopoulos, who continues in the role of public relations and product communications specialist.

Mr Lewis comes to Mercedes-Benz from Bauer Media, where he has spent the past five years working across print and digital media on a range of motoring titles in the stable including Wheels, Motor, Street Machine and WhichCar.

He has also worked as a freelance journalist and is a former editor of Fast Fours & Rotaries, Zoom and Hot4s magazines.
