Using smartphone sensors to collect and analyse information relating to driver behaviour and risk, the Mentor app forms an individual FICO-validated score to predict the likelihood of a driver being involved in a crash or accident.
“Thank you to Brake, the road safety charity, for the nomination and award, and thank you to eDriving for allowing Innovation Group Australia to be your partner in the Australian and New Zealand markets,” said Innovation Group Australia managing director Drew Schnehage.
“Together we will create a safer driving culture to help fleet companies keep their drivers safe on the roads.”
The app generates a ‘DriverINDEX’ score that developers say combine collision, incident, and licence check data to determine which of a fleet’s drivers are most at risk of a collision or would benefit from further training.
“We’re delighted that Mentor has been recognised for its contribution to keeping those who drive for work purposes safe across Australia and New Zealand,” said eDriving CEO and Founder Ed Dubens.
“This is great news for reinforcing the value of our partnership with Innovation Group in helping to reduce driver risk in Australasia.”
eDriving helps organisations around the world to reduce incidents, collisions, injuries, license violations, carbon emissions and total cost of fleet ownership through its patented digital driver risk management programs.
Its Mentor app is able to remediate risky driving behaviours via a combination of micro-training, coaching, and gamification.
Among other features, the app also includes an eco-driving indicator and emergency response function, the latter including both automatic crash detection and personal SOS functionality developed in conjunction with Bosch and Sfara.
The app’s coaching toolkit provides fleet operators with easy-to-use templates designed to assist in developing safer attitudes and behaviours behind the wheel, and can provide monthly, annual, and post-collision coaching sessions for all users.
Among others, the five-stage program is designed for use by delivery, sales, service, and warehouse fleets to “help build a safety-focussed work environment that supports lasting behavioural change”, its developer says.
The app is privacy protected in line with ISO27001 international standards. Only driver data required for risk management is shared with the manager and no location data or individual trip data is visible beyond the driver.
So far, the app has been used by 1.2 million drivers in 125 countries.
