Mercedes‑Benz’s global ‘studio’ concept is coming to Australia with Sydney earmarked as the first city to launch the interactive space for the brand’s owners and enthusiasts.
The Mercedes-Benz Studio, to open in September in Sydney’s Martin Place, will feature new product releases and invite-only events.
Sydney is the fifth location in the world as part of Mercedes-Benz’s global concept establishing inner-city brand spaces across four continents in the world’s leading metropolises.
Prior to the September opening, the brand in June showed the future studio taking shape in Martin Place with its first activation as part of the “140 Years. 140 Places” S-Class route.
The Mercedes-Benz Studio, which will be open to the public, is a brand space designed to create a new gathering point where culture, innovation and everyday urban life intersect.
In the studio, visitors will experience interactive brand activations such as new product releases, invite-only events and cultural celebrations brought to life with strategic partnerships.
Mercedes-Benz Australia CEO and managing director Homero Becerra said that the brand was proud that Sydney has been selected as one of the key cities in the global Mercedes-Benz Studio initiative.
“We are thrilled to bring the concept to our local customers and enthusiasts, creating a space where they can connect with our brand in a way that feels inspiring and celebrates our passions of technology, art, sporting, and culture,” he said.
Martin Place is often referred to as ‘the heart of the city’ because its pedestrian-friendly spine in Sydney’s CBD blends heritage, business, and public life.
Widely recognised as the city’s symbolic town square, it connects major institutions like the General Post Office (GPO), Reserve Bank of Australia, and leading bank headquarters. In 1989, Martin Place was added to the Australian Heritage Commission’s list.
The Mercedes‑Benz Studio launches in a milestone year for the brand, marking 140 years since Carl Benz filed the original patent for the first automobile.
As part of the “140 Years of Innovation” celebration, the Mercedes-Benz Studio Sydney will be a dedicated stop on the global “140 Years. 140 Places.” route ahead of its opening.
This journey follows the new S-Class model visiting 140 destinations that symbolise the history, pioneering spirit and global presence of the Mercedes-Benz brand.
In announcing the Sydney studio, Mercedes-Benz AG vice president of digital and communications and investor relations, Christina Schenck, said the studios “are meant to make visitors feel welcome”.

“We’re bringing our newest and most exciting cars right into the heart of the city, so customers can experience them up close, in a relaxed and inspiring setting,” she said.
“It’s about creating places people enjoy spending time in; discovering our products, connecting with the brand, and feeling at home with Mercedes‑Benz.”
Ranked among Interbrand’s Best Global Brands for 10 consecutive years, each Mercedes-Benz Studio reflects the company’s commitment to building the most desirable cars in the world, while in parallel creating unique customer experiences that nurture long-term relationships before, during and after the point of purchase.
