Mr Robson was previously editor of WhichCar and, before that, with Telstra and the NRMA in communications and editorial positions.
MG Motor Australia and New Zealand CEO Peter Ciao said: “Tim brings his outstanding media experience and extensive industry knowledge to us at MG and will work closely with the national marketing team to help us offer the best possible vehicles for the Australian market.
“I am very pleased to have made an appointment of his calibre and standing in the industry.”
Mr Robson said: “I’m so excited to be joining the MG Motor team at such a pivotal time for the brand. The marque continues to go from strength to strength, and its hard work paid off with a well-deserved top ten result in the February VFacts sales results.”
“I already feel like a part of a young, hungry organisation that is absolutely determined to succeed. My first day on the job took place at the launch of the all-new MG HS Plug-In Hybrid, which has received rave reviews already from some of the most respected journalists in the industry.
“I’m proud to join MG as it aims to make new-energy vehicles an integral part of mainstream motoring in Australia.”
