SILK Logistics has appointed Paul Spottiswood as its new chief corporate development officer.

Mr Spottiswood has a strong and extensive prior relationship with Silk Logistics Holdings as its chief financial officer.

He was also the corporate adviser for the management buyout of Silk Contract Logistics in 2014 and has advised Silk Logistics on several acquisitions and refinancings.

“We welcome Paul back into the business and look forward to continuing the SLH growth story,” the company said in a statement.

In a statement, Silk welcomed Mr Spottiswood’s return and said it had “a clear mandate for growth”.

Mr Spottiswood will lead Silk’s newly-created corporate development team and be responsible for accelerating the growth of Silk Logistics Holdings Ltd through strategic acquisitions.

The team will also include Michelle Cao as general manager of corporate development and Alan MacConnell as integration manager.

Silk’s corporate development team will also lead acquisition finance, integration of acquisitions, equity market intelligence and investor relations.

The announcement follows the purchase by Silk Logistics of WA-based Fremantle Freight & Logistics.

In a statement, the company said it had “a clear mandate for growth and will continue to pursue complementary opportunities in port logistics, warehousing, transport, technology, and property, in Australia and internationally”.
