BYD New Zealand’s dealer network has been recognised for excellence at the second annual BYD Asia-Pacific (APAC) dealer conference in Shenzhen, taking home five major awards.

Winners include Andrew Simms Auckland which secured two awards: Best Aftersales Service and Top Salesman, with Malcolm Davidson recognised as the top-performing sales representative.
Automarque BYD Lower Hutt was awarded Best Customer Satisfaction, reflecting its commitment to exceptional client experiences, while Ebbett BYD Hamilton received the Best Marketing Award for its innovative and effective promotional strategies.
Ateco Automotive, the official distributor for BYD in New Zealand, was honoured as an Excellent Partner, underscoring the company’s pivotal role in the car-maker’s local success.
The accolades are intended to highlight the outstanding performance, customer service, and innovation demonstrated by BYD’s New Zealand partners over the past year.
BYD NZ general manager Warren Willmot said: “These awards reflect the dedication and hard work our New Zealand network has put into the BYD brand over the past 12 months – a period marked by some of the most challenging market conditions in two decades.
“Their achievements are a testament to their professionalism and commitment to delivering outstanding service and innovation.”
While in China, the New Zealand BYD dealers previewed more than 20 new BYD models targeted for the Australasian market, witnessed testing of the Yangwang U8 SUV and visited the new Zhengzhou Shark 6 ute factory that covers 13,000 hectares, employs more than 150,000 people and was completed in just nine months, showcasing BYD’s rapid growth and manufacturing prowess.
