AUSTRALIAN automotive consulting and solutions group Fusion Business Solutions has landed a major contract for its subsidiary software company, Op2ma, which will provide motorcycle manufacturer Harley Davidson digital and consulting solutions in the Asia-Pacific region.

Op2ma already provides services for Harley Davidson in Australia and New Zealand through its Ri-focus platform, a cloud-based digital solution that combines multiple data sources with bespoke auto-industry tools that, according to managing director Marc Brien “help the client’s field-force become more productive and more proactive”.

Dealers can use the Ri-focus platform to instantaneously access data including visit reports, action plans, audits and other dealer-focused information, to help run the business more effectively.

Op2ma’s collaboration with Harley Davidson will now spread into multiple countries in the Asia-Pacific region, including Brunei, Cambodia, China, Guam, India, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, New Caledonia, Philippines, Tahiti, Thailand, Vietnam and Mexico.

Mr Brien said the new contract would be a big catalyst for the Adelaide-based company’s growth.

“Harley Davidson has been a major client with us in Australia since 2009,” he said. “In the last few years we have completed many small projects for them in the Asia-Pacific region but this new contract is very important for the growth of our company in becoming a global supplier of automotive technology and consulting solutions.”

This year has been a busy one for Op2ma and Fusion Business Solutions, who made major inroads into the Chinese market in February by securing a contract to supply Ford Automotive Finance (China) and its dealer network with a range of consulting and technology services focused around retention.

Last year it established its first Chinese office in Shanghai, in order to be near what Mr Brien says is “the epicentre for the automotive world today”. The Shanghai office is used to deliver and support the services to Ford Automotive Finance and will be used to facilitate the Harley Davidson partnership. All software planning will be done at the Adelaide head office.

He said that establishing an office in China was a difficult task, explaining that software companies are subject to strict compliance rules where no data is allowed to leave the country, and a strong office presence is required within the country.

Mr Brien also identified automotive and financial consulting company Urban Science, which currently has a strategic partnership with Op2ma, as a potential source of growth for the company in Asia-Pacific.

Fusion Business Solutions was founded by Mr Brien in 1999 as a training and consulting company, with Op2ma created in 2012 as a software subsidiary.

Its current client list includes global OEMs such as Jaguar Land Rover, Volkswagen, Mitsubishi, Honda, Nissan, Holden, Peugeot, Ford, KTM, Husqvarna and Toyota.

It offers other services such as the R-gnr8 platform which helps clients increase finance, insurance and aftersales performance throughout a customer life cycle, and the digital lead management platform which helps attract and retain interested customers.
