SALES growth of Honda vehicles has started a wave of showroom upgrades with one of the first being a $1.75 million investment by Rex Gorell Family Group in a new showroom in Geelong.

The showroom upgrade on Geelong’s Latrobe Terrace is targeted at improving customer comfort and space. It includes a new customer cafe, renovated lounge, new state-of-the-art delivery bay, a dedicated merchandise and accessories area, and expanded showroom space for an extra 10 vehicles.

Honda Australia director Stephen Collins said the Gorell premises was one of many upgrades that are planned across the Honda dealer network.

“We have a strong product line-up and sales and are committed as a company to put our customers at the centre of everything we do,” he said.

“I’m pleased we are able to provide our Geelong customers with a new showroom in which to experience the Honda range.”

Honda year-to-date sales to the end of March are up 54.8 per cent – only exceeded by newcomers LDV and MG – compared with the same period in 2017. It has sold 15,129 vehicles in the first quarter of 2018, giving it a 5.2 per cent YTD market share, just behind Holden and ahead of Subaru and Volkswagen.

The co-owner of the Rex Gorell Family Group, Brett Gorell, said the new showroom reflected the growth of the Honda brand over the past few years.

“The updated showroom project has been a big undertaking and a fantastic opportunity to reflect on the sales growth,” he said.

“As a dealership we have always been committed to creating customers for life and providing the best of care, now we are able to continue this legacy and welcome customers into our new home.”

Rex Gorell Honda has been servicing and supporting the Geelong community for more than 22 years. It employs 30 local residents in service and sales, and supports a variety of local businesses and causes.

It is a member of The Honda Foundation, a nationwide initiative funding charities, projects and organisations focused on helping others.
