NEW car brand to Australia, Jaecoo, has appointed Narine Salmasi as its general manager of marketing for Australia and New Zealand in preparation for an all-SUV range launch in the first half of 2025.
Ms Salmasi is an experienced marketing executive with a long association with automotive companies, having started in the automotive industry as national marketing and public affairs specialist for Jaguar Land Rover Asia Pacific before joining Ferrari ANZ as head of marketing.
She has also been national brand and communications manager for Peugeot Citroen Australia, and national marketing and communications manager for Volkswagen Group Australia.
Ms Salmasi joined Chery Australia in 2023 as national marketing head for brand and retail and has now moved to Jaecoo – the prestige sub-brand of Chery – as general manager of marketing.
She said: “I’m excited to announce that I’ve joined the Jaecoo Australia team as general manager – marketing ANZ, as we prepare to launch this dynamic new automotive brand in 2025.
“Jaecoo is redefining sophistication and adventure in the automotive world, and I’m thrilled to lead the marketing efforts for its arrival into this region.”
The Jaecoo J7 medium SUV will launch in the first half of 2025, followed by the smaller J5. A seven-seat J8 SUV should arrive later in the year.
