In addition to recognising the providers with the highest levels of customer satisfaction in the car insurance industry, the People’s Choice Awards are an outlet for consumers to have their opinions heard and give a performance report on their car insurance provider.
“What separates our awards from other industry awards and makes them so highly sought after among providers is that the winners are chosen by real customers,” said Mozo director Kirsty Lamont.
Of the 46 car insurance providers reviewed by customers, specialist car insurer Shannons and Apia came out on top after bagging an award in every category. Other major winners were RAA and GIO.

Mozo asked customers to rate their current car insurance provider out of ten on a range of factors from satisfaction and trustworthiness to their likelihood to recommend the provider to others.
Respondents were also required to rate the customer experience that captures the process of getting a quote and making a claim.
For overall customer satisfaction, this year’s frontrunners scored around 30 points more on average than those providers who did not receive a People’s Choice Award.
Mozo found value was the biggest differentiator between award winners and non-winners, followed by likelihood to recommend and claims handling.
