SKODA Australia has appointed Megan Moynihan as head of sales responsible for dealer network performance, customer growth and expansion across key market segments.
Ms Moynihan has more than seven years of experience with the Skoda brand in international and Australian markets and joined Volkswagen Group Australia in 2022 after relocating from Volkswagen Group Ireland.
Skoda said that since joining the Australian business, Ms Moynihan has played a pivotal role in strengthening relationships across the dealer network, supporting retail performance and helping prepare the brand for the transition to electrified mobility.
Ms Moynihan was also a key driver in the rollout of battery electric vehicle infrastructure across the Skoda dealer network.
Before her appointment as head of sales, Ms Moynihan was regional manager, working closely with national retailers.
During this time, dealers achieved back-to-back Skoda dealer of the year awards, reflecting her strong focus on performance, partnership and customer outcomes.
Skoda Australia brand director Lucie Kuhn said: “Megan’s deep understanding of the Skoda brand, strong relationships across our dealer network and proven track record of delivering results make her the ideal person to lead our sales operations.
“Her experience across both international and Australian markets will be invaluable as we continue to grow the brand and strengthen our position in the market.
“I’d also like to thank Ian Downey for his contribution to Skoda Australia over the past three years and wish him every success as he returns to Ireland.”
Ms Moynihan said: “This is an exciting time for Skoda Australia, with a strong pipeline of new products and significant opportunities ahead.
“I look forward to working closely with our dealer partners to strengthen network performance, support sustainable growth and further expand our presence in the fleet market.”
Ms Moynihan succeeds Ian Downey following his three-year tenure with Skoda Australia.
She assumes the role at a pivotal time for the brand, with an expanded model range, growing electrification ambitions and a strong pipeline of new product launches set to arrive over the next 12 to 18 months.
