SSANGYONG Australia is putting on a new face at its national dealerships as it bolsters its model line-up with an expanded range of its all-important mid-size Korando SUV.

The first dealer with the new corporate identity in a dedicated showroom is John McGrath SsangYong in Canberra.

SsangYong Australia acting managing director Myongsoo Kang said the new CI rollout is underway and he expects the balance of the network to be completed by mid-2020.

He said there are 37 national dealerships and four service-only outlets currently in operation, however four more are expected to be appointed before the end of this year.

These will be in the northern suburbs of Melbourne, in Cairns, in northern suburbs of Perth and in the western suburbs of Brisbane.

“The new CI involves a new pylon, building fascia, directional signage, point-of-sale material and, where available, a showroom fit-out,” Mr Kang told GoAutoNews Premium.

He said the new look was in response to expanding sales on the back of the September launch of the Korando SUV which the company expects to become its best-selling SUV and the second biggest seller in its range after the Musso.

The company has just announced the showroom arrival of new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol variants for Korando, following its market launch with a 1.6-litre diesel.
