Brad Cramb

TOYOTA Motor Corporation Australia’s corporate consolidation of its sales and marketing operation in Melbourne, in the wake of its wind-down of domestic car manufacturing, has led to the resignation of its chief marketing officer, Brad Cramb.

Mr Cramb, brother of Toyota Australia’s executive director of sales and marketing Tony Cramb, has been with the company for 22 years. He has held the chief marketing role since 2013 and recently elected not to move from his Sydney base to Toyota’s new corporate facilities in Melbourne.

Wayne Gabriel, currently Toyota Australia’s corporate manager, has been promoted to replace Mr Cramb.

Mr Gabriel has been with Toyota for 20 years including roles as national sales and marketing from 2000 to 2006 for Toyota and Daihatsu.

Mr Cramb has led marketing campaigns including the Toyota LandCruiser Emergency Network, the Toyota HiLux advertisement based on a Top Gear show, and on the 2016 RAV4.

In a statement, Toyota Australia said Brad Cramb was “unable to relocate to Melbourne”.

Other senior Toyota executives have also told the company they will not move to Melbourne from Sydney.

GoAutoNews Premium understands these include public relations manager, Mike Breen, who will hand over the Toyota product PR portfolio to Melbourne based manager of public affairs Beck Angel.
