TOYOTA is officially out of the Sydney suburb of Woolooware Bay after 50 years following this week’s opening of a new multi-million-dollar training complex in Moorebank.

It is the third Sydney building move for Toyota Motor Company Australia (TMCA) in the past two years.

It moved its parts centre in October 2018 from Woolooware Bay to Kemps Creek in the eastern suburbs of Sydney, and its NSW headquarters to Sydney Olympic Park in late 2019.

Sister company Hino also moved its parts centre from Caringbah to Horsley Park.

The Woolooware Bay site of 12.4 hectares is being developed into a business park by a private developer.

The new training complex at Moorebank has a two-level, 5000-square-metre area that is about 70 per cent bigger than the previous single-level teaching facility.

It has an 18-bay service workshop, diagnostics bays with hoists and multiple classrooms including five with vehicle access.

TMCA president and CEO Matthew Callachor said the development of the three new premises confirmed the commitment of Toyota and Lexus to their customers and to the broader community in NSW and Australia.

“All these new premises build on our proud history of more than half a century of vehicle sales and service to our valued customers, in addition to being a significant employer and an active member of the community,” Mr Callachor said.

“Provision of world-class training – whether for technicians with the latest diagnostic tools or for other dealership staff honing their management skills – is all about improving the overall customer experience,” he said.
