TOYOTA Australia is to roll out a new fleet management platform in the first half of next year that uses connected vehicle technologies and near real-time data to optimise the operations of its customers’ fleet vehicles.

Toyota Halo, developed in partnership with Australian fleet management software specialist Fleetsu, is a high-performance platform for the rapid deployment of a full suite

of connected vehicle management tools to help small and large businesses optimise the way they run their company vehicles.

The fleet management solution, which will be available through Toyota dealerships, gives customers the ability to process an extensive amount of data from thousands of vehicles.

The data can be used to provide insights into vehicle operations and so business fleet owners can take actions to increase fleet productivity and improve time and cost efficiencies.

The system allows businesses to make more informed decisions by locating their fleet of vehicles at any time, anywhere across Australia. They can be alerted to driver behaviour like speeding or long idling and can get an analysis of the balance between when the car is active or not in use.

Halo includes real-time data on vehicle performance, fuel consumption and maintenance so that business owners can maximise the use of every single vehicle in their fleet. The system includes logbooking.

Halo is currently compatible with most Toyota models from 2019 production onwards including Camry, CH-R, Corolla, Fortuner, Granvia, HiAce, HiLux, Granvia, Kluger, Prado, Prius, Prius V, RAV4 and Yaris.

Fleetsu founder and CEO Jakub Felinski said the partnership with Toyota would be a compelling offering for small and large fleet companies.

“We are driven by our mission to be the industry standard for connected vehicle technology and we pride ourselves with delivering a seamless intuitive customer experience,” he said.

Toyota Australia sales, marketing and franchise operations vice president Sean Hanley said the launch of Toyota Halo delivered new levels of fleet management functionality.

“Toyota is further developing its connected vehicle technology to provide high levels of safety and convenience to all customers,” he said.

“In the business world, our connected vehicle technology is now being applied through our Toyota Halo platform to help companies in Australia manage their fleet operations by using near real-time data to efficiently and effectively run and control fleet operations and help reduce business costs.”

Fleetsu’s expertise is in connected car platform technology with specialisation in data processing, analytics and fleet automation solutions for fleet owners.

The business, which was founded in 2015 and operates internationally, provides its services to companies including Toyota, Avis, and Cummins.
