MASERATI has made some key executive changes at the top of its management team with Bernard Loire coming in as chief commercial officer and Paolo Tubito as chief marketing officer.

The announcement forms the latest step in reinforcing Maserati’s management renewal which will be responsible for steering the brand as it “reveals important innovations”, the first of which being an all new sportscar set to be built at its plant in Modena and debut in May.

Mr Loire began his automotive career with Ford in 1988 after studying economy and marketing at the IFAG Business Management School in France.

After a lengthy stint with the automotive giant, he shifted across to Fiat before taking up residence at Nissan and Mitsubishi Europe in 2002 where he became increasingly responsible for the commercial and marketing aspects of the brands until now with his shift to Maserati.

Mr Tubito meanwhile completed a degree in economics and business at the University of Bari before going on to further his studies at the University of Mid-Glamorgan, in the UK.

Working at several communication agencies, he started his career in 1992 and since 1998, has held roles of increasing responsibility for communication, leadership, marketing and innovation within Nike, culminating in becoming Nike Asia Pacific and Latin America vice president.

Both men will report directly to Maserati chief executive Davide Grasso.

Few details are known about the brand’s upcoming, all new sportscar other than it will not be electric.

Maserati posted a 10-second teaser video to its Twitter page in November with audio of a V8 petrol engine being started and pulling away, sounding very similar to the familiar 4.7-litre unit found in the Gran Tourismo MC Stradale.

Whether or not this is what the new car will actually sound like, let alone if it will have a V8, remains to be seen, but rumours of hybrid technology and all-wheel-drive have also been circulating for some months now.

The as yet unnamed sportscar is scheduled to debut globally in May.
