At an invitation-only gala event in Melbourne hosted by Shane Jacobson, the VACC Automotive Apprenticeships group scheme recognised graduating apprentices and trainees.
VACC CEO Geoff Gwilym said: “VACC congratulates all apprentice and trainee graduates, and award winners.“Training and placing skilled workers into the automotive industry is amongst the most important work VACC does.
Eight award winners also received recognition for outstanding achievements during their short automotive careers:
- VACC Apprentice of the Year: Daniel Balliro from Northern Motor Group in Bundoora (Certificate III in Light Vehicle)
- TACC Apprentice of the Year: Will Dodge from Hobart Mitsubishi (Certificate III in Light Vehicle)
- Outstanding 1st Year Apprentice: Hayden Smith of Warragul City Motor (Certificate III in Automotive Sales – Parts Interpreter)
- Outstanding 2nd Year Apprentice: Aiden Evans of Mornington Mitsubishi and Isuzu Ute (Certificate III in Light Vehicle)
- Outstanding 3rd Year Apprentice: Samuel Lee of Princi Motors in Silvan (Certificate III in Light Vehicle)
- Outstanding Trainee of the Year: Joel Williams of Aldek Automotive Services in Croydon South (Certificate II in Automotive Services)
- VACC Progressive Excellence Award: Jack Black of Kevin Dennis Motors in Deer Park (Certificate III in Light Vehicle)
- TACC Progressive Excellence Award: Sam Mitchell of Jackmans Garage in Moonah (Certificate III in Light Vehicle).
