BEVERLY (Bev) Brock OAM has passed away at the age of 77, two years after being diagnosed with cancer.

She was for nearly thirty years the partner of the late legendary motor racing champion Peter Brock, separating from him in 2005 – a year before his untimely death in a race crash and later becoming involved in a bitter legal battle over his estate.

Bev was considered to have been integral to Peter Brock’s racing success through the 1970s and 80s and was a constant presence in the pits at all his races and behind-the-scenes organising.

After his death, Bev applied the relentless focus she had demonstrated in the motorsport arena in the service of others including Rotary and the Lighthouse Foundation that “illuminates” the lives of countless vulnerable young people.

On Facebook after her death, Bev’s son James Brock posted: “Bev was a dedicated parent, always making time to make a costume for a play or help out on a school camp.

“She dedicated her life to helping Peter’s racing career taking on multiple roles, all met with skill, smarts and purpose.”

In a 2015 ABC radio interview, Bev said: “I look back and I think I have had a privileged life, I have had a blessed existence.”

Bev Brock is survived by her children James, Robert, and Alexandra and seven grandchildren.
