CARSALES managing director Ajay Bhatia has resigned to join global online business Adevinta as CEO of its German automotive classified platform, mobile.de.

He will be replaced by Paul Barlow who is a highly-experienced senior leader and has been with Carsales for 13 years, the past eight years as managing director of International.

Mr Bhatia, who joins mobile.de in Germany from August 1, has almost 20 years experience in online classifieds in Australia and Asia.

He has extensive experience in the automotive classified vertical, as well as real estate, employment and general classifieds.

He has also held a range of leadership roles covering general management, product, technology, sales and digital marketing.

In 2015 he was named Australian CIO of the Year by CEO Magazine.

He graduated from Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program and has a Masters in Management from the University of Technology, Sydney. He is also a professor at UTS Business School.
