GLOBAL vehicle data company JATO has partnered with AutoGrab to launch a comprehensive information tool in the UK that provides accurate details about used vehicles.
The VINView Pro is an upgrade of the VINView service that delivers the build specification for individual vehicles, making a significant step from the standard specification information previously available.
The system is available through JATO’s ‘Sales Link’ platform or via API integration, whereby dealers, insurers and leasing firms can access build data by entering either a registration plate or VIN.For larger organisations, the API solution offers integration into existing systems, making it suitable for dealer groups, fleet companies and auction houses managing high vehicle volumes.
JATO and AutoGrab said the enhanced accuracy streamlines operations for businesses while increasing customer confidence by providing complete transparency.
“Dealerships and marketplaces can market vehicles more effectively, while insurance providers and fleet managers benefit from improved risk assessment and underwriting accuracy,” the companies said in a statement.
“By disclosing the full specification and original pricing of each car, the tool aims to help eliminate the guesswork that can lead to miss-pricing, incorrect valuations, or inconsistent residual values.”
JATO Dynamics head of retail, Paul Hilton, said: “A dealer can put a registration number in and be told exactly what a car has got on it in terms of upgraded paint, additional features and interior and exterior add-ons.
“They can use that data to market the vehicle. Those accessing the product via Sales Link will continue to receive Sales Link’s other benefits such as AI-generated descriptions that can be used in advertising material.”
By offering original build sheet data, VINView Pro aims to allow insurers to assess vehicles more accurately, fleet managers to mitigate risk, and retailers to avoid costly misrepresentation.
The result is enhanced customer satisfaction and reduced legal exposure.
Data available through the VINView Pro service includes detailed build specifications including exact factory-fitted options, standard equipment, and original pricing for individual vehicles.
“VINView Pro eliminates such issues by accurately detailing how each car was originally built, removing guesswork and potential misrepresentation risks,” the companies’ statement said.
“Its advanced API integration ensures seamless access within existing business workflows, enabling instant retrieval of precise vehicle data.”
AutoGrab founder and CEO Chris Gardner said: “My team and I are hugely excited to be working in partnership with JATO – and the launch of VINView Pro is the perfect way to get our new alliance off to a flying start.
“Leveraging JATO’s extensive vehicle data, we are refining our valuation services for the market and deepening our insights for forecasting and analytics – and VINView Pro is a key part of that.
“With JATO and AutoGrab working together, our customers have already begun to see the impact of the increased data and insights on vehicles flowing through our platform.
“VINView Pro is all about taking things to the next level and it is sure to be a game-changer for the automotive industry right across the globe.”
JATO’s Paul Hilton said: “We know from regular inquiries we receive that there is huge demand for accurate build specification for vehicles.
“To express it simply, we are obtaining complex factory data from OEMs, and putting it into more everyday language that businesses can use when sourcing or supplying vehicles.
“We’re confident VINView PRO will be successful. We know the demand is there and of course JATO has 40 years of experience in the fields of automotive data, analysis and intelligence.
“Our aim is to improve accuracy, transparency and confidence in the used car space and we’re certain VINView Pro will achieve our objective.”
