NEW NSW dealer group Cooma Automotive has bought the Cooma-based High Country and Alpine motor groups and the six franchised brands including Toyota and Hyundai.

The new group, headed by business partners Nathan Hayes and Tegan Taungakava, this week took ownership of the Snowy Monaro region’s most established automotive groups. 

Cooma Automotive said it would continue the long-standing commitment of previous owners Steven Ganitis and David Crawford to serving the local community.

It said it would also ensure representation of High Country and Alpine’s brands of Toyota, Ford, Hyundai, Isuzu Ute, Subaru and Nissan.

Cooma Automotive said its group brings extensive automotive experience with a shared passion for customer service, community involvement and regional business growth. 

GoAutoNews Premium has been told that dealer principal Nathan Hayes is regarded as one of the industry’s best operators with more than three decades in the industry, the past 12 years as the dealer principal of the Eagers Automotive-owned Gerald Slaven Group in the ACT.

He is joined by Tegan Taungakava as chief financial officer, who has 15 years of automotive finance expertise, lately as state financial controller for Eagers in the ACT. 

The company said its vision was to build on the strong foundations already established while investing in the dealership’s people, customers and future opportunities. 

Mr Hayes said: “We are incredibly excited to begin this journey together”.

Cooma Automotive operates from two sites in Cooma, one for Alpine Ford and the other brands being Toyota, Isuzu Ute, Hyundai, Subaru and Nissan on Sharp St, Cooma.

The company acknowledged the contribution of the previous owners and thanked them for their stewardship of the business and the strong platform they created for the future.
