DUCATI Australia has further expanded its national dealership footprint with the addition of the Albury Wodonga-based Blacklocks Motorcycles now supporting the motorcycle company’s sales and service in regional New South Wales.
It follows the appointment of new dealer partners including Worthington Motorcycles on the NSW Central Coast and the acquisition of the Ducati’s Prospect dealership in Tasmania by the well-known House of Motorcycles Group.

Blacklocks started operations in 1892 as a bicycle manufacturer and for more than a century, has expanded its business to include more than 20 franchises across the truck, vehicle and motorcycle segments.

Blacklocks, which employs more than 200 people and is in Lavington, officially became a motorcycle dealer 15 years ago but has a history with motorcycles going back much further with early sales recorded in 1924.
The new Ducati dealership was officially launched at Blacklocks with a gala event attended by members of the community, the Ducati Australia executive team and passionate Ducatisti who were keen to welcome the motorcycle brand to the region, famous for its wineries, breweries and postcard-perfect rides.
Ducati Australia managing director Sergi Canovas said: “The Blacklocks name is part of the fabric of automotive history in Australia, and the team’s sterling reputation for service is closely intertwined with that history.”

Blacklocks dealer principal Rick Kamevaar, a 45-year industry veteran, was excited to represent the Ducati brand in the Albury Wodonga region.

“While Blacklocks has an impressive and diverse history in automotive, so too does the powerhouse Ducati brand,” he said.

“It’s an instantly recognizable brand with an authentic identity and a loyal following; and the team and I can’t wait to support our customers as part of the Ducati family.”

The partnership between Ducati and Blacklocks Motorcycles joins the Italian motorcycle manufacturer’s global sales network, which today counts more than 800 points of sale in over 96 countries worldwide.

In July, Ducati Australia appointed Worthington Motorcycles, on NSW’s Central Coast, to the dealership family.

Ducati, part of Audi AG, was founded in 1926 and since 1946 has been manufacturing sport-inspired motorcycles characterised by high-performance engines, innovative design and cutting-edge technology.

The brand’s iconic motorcycles, together with an extensive range of bike accessories and technical and lifestyle apparel, are distributed in 90 countries worldwide. In 2021, Ducati delivered 61,562 bikes.

It competes with official teams in the MotoGP World Championship and Superbike World Championship. In MotoGP, where the Company has been racing since 2003, Ducati won the Constructors’ title in 2007, 2020, 2021 and 2022, the Teams’ title in 2007, 2021 and 2022 and the Rider’s title in 2007 and 2022, becoming two times World Champion.

In Superbike, Ducati has won 18 Constructors’ titles and 15 Riders’ titles, confirming its position as the most successful manufacturer in the category. Last year marked an unprecedented year for Ducati: for the first time in its history, the Company won the Triple Crown in both the MotoGP and Superbike World Championships.

From 2023 until 2026, the motorcycle manufacturer will be the sole official supplier of motorbikes for the FIM Enel MotoETM World Cup, the electric class of the MotoGP World Championship.
