He was previously London-based vice-president of brand and customer experience for Nissan in the regions of Africa, Middle East, India, Europe and Oceania, and before that, Nissan’s vice-president of marketing communications, digital customer experience and connected cars based in Paris.

He will be part of McLaren’s executive team and will head up global marketing, luxury brand strategy, lifestyle events and Pure McLaren experiences as well as Automotive’s Customer Racing motorsport programme.

Mr Dunsmore will also lead product strategy including the transition towards electrification following the launch of McLaren’s first series-production high-performance hybrid supercar, the Artura.

He said: “I’m excited to have joined McLaren which is regarded as the epitome of modern luxury.

“Building on those incredibly impressive foundations, I’ll be focussing on rolling out our luxury brand strategy as we move towards an exciting electrified future that delivers exceptional experiences for our customers.”
