Eagers was not available to comment but it is understood the dealership is on a leased site which is contrary to the car group’s ongoing plans to own the properties on which it is located.
It is the first exposure to the brand by the buyer of Doncaster JLR, Barry Bourke Motors.
The dealership was originally owned by AHG Ltd and became an asset of Eagers (then AP Eagers) after it bought the WA-based car group in 2019.
AHG bought the JLR dealership – and the franchises of Alfa Romeo, Fiat and Abarth – from the Lance Dixon Group in 2016.
Eagers retains its sole Victorian JLR dealership at Essendon Fields.
