ONE of Australia’s biggest Holden car collections is being put on the market by the D’Alberto brothers following the closure of two of the family dealerships and the sale of the third.

The huge collection of about 50 cars covering 50 years of Holden’s key vehicles will go to auction on April 13-15, 2018 by Mildura-based auctioneers Burns and Company.

The four D’Alberto brothers collected the Holdens during their 34-year history as Holden dealers in the rural Victoria and New South Wales districts.

They closed the Kyabram dealership early this year, sold the Echuca dealership – where the collection is stored – and will close Deniliquin Holden at the end of this year after Holden told them the franchise agreement would not be extended.

Their collection includes a 1970 Monaro GTS 186S with only 320 miles on the clock; a Walkinshaw VL SS Group A with 1271 miles; a red Walkinshaw VN SS Group A with 1830 miles; and two Brock Commodores – a VK SS Group A with 2336km and a VL SS Group A with an odometer reading of 5279km.

There are also more standard cars, such as a 48-215, EK, EH and HR Holdens, Commodore and Torana models, and a 2001 Monaro.
