FIAT Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) Australia has turned their national network of 110 dealerships into donation drop-off points for the Smith Family Toy and Book Appeal.

The annual Smith Family appeal is held at Christmas to provide thousands of new toys and books to children in need.

FCA Australia president and CEO Steve Zanlunghi said The Smith Family Toy and Book Appeal provided much joy to children across Australia each year.

“This enables the dealer network to give back to their communities,” he said.

“We are proud to support The Smith Family this Christmas and look forward to helping them reach their goal of collecting over 100,000 new toys and books.

“I am grateful that our dealers have welcomed the opportunity to transform their dealerships into drop-off points.

“The network of over 110 dealers within the Fiat-Chrysler family will help collect as many donations as possible for an extremely good cause.

The Smith Family’s CEO Dr Lisa O’Brien said: “Sadly, thousands of Australian kids won’t receive a gift this Christmas simply because their families can’t afford it.

“This year, The Smith Family aims to deliver toy and book packs to 20,000 children who are part of our Learning for Life sponsorship program and receive education support throughout the year.

“Thanks to the generous support of the Australian public, we can bring many happy smiles to children’s faces on Christmas morning.”

FCA is also supporting the initiative by providing a fleet of vehicles to assist volunteers and staff members to collect and deliver gifts throughout December.

All Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Fiat Professional, Chrysler and Jeep dealerships are now collecting toy and book donations until December 22.

The Smith Family is a children’s education charity that helps disadvantaged young Australians to succeed at school, so they can create better futures for themselves.
