AUSTRALIAN listed car retailer Autosports Group Ltd has announced that its executive director and co-founder, Ian Pagent, will retire from his position as executive director.

He has from the start of this month relinquished his executive role and continues on the board as a non-executive director.

The company said that as co-founder of Autosports Group, Mr Pagent drove its governance and culture of excellence, as well as rapid growth from a single dealership in 2006 to more than 50 today.

“As he retires as an executive, the group has grown from a single dealership in 2006 to over 50 businesses across NSW, Victoria, Queensland and New Zealand.

“On behalf of the board, executive leadership and staff, Autosports Group thanks Ian for his immense contribution.”

Autosports Group CEO and Ian’s son, Nick Pagent, said: “Ian’s vision and integrity set the foundation for what Autosports Group stands for today.

“We are privileged that we will continue to benefit from Ian’s industry experience, clarity of thought and trusted business relationships in his role as a non-executive director.”

Mr Pagent will continue with his other non-executive directorships on the boards of the Audi Foundation and The Friends of the Mater Foundation.
