AUSTRALIA’S latest Jaguar Land Rover dealership has opened on the Gold Coast with Bruce Lynton Automotive Group presenting its $9 million showroom complete with the brand’s latest corporate identity.

The new showroom replaces the Land Rover building that was completed in 1997 and is both substantially larger, more customer-focused and more efficient for staff.

Beric Lynton, the group’s dealer principal – and son of the founder – told GoAutoNews Premium that the new building reflects the outlook for growth with the brand.

“We are certainly looking for growth with JLR,” he said.

“When we started this project, Jaguar Land Rover had presented that we would receive four new Land Rover and three new Jaguar products in the coming years.

“We’ve just launched the new Land Rover Discovery and Range Rover Velar. With Jaguar the F-Pace was launched last year with the E-Pace and I-Pace, the electric car, due next year.

“Further ahead there’s a new Defender in 2019 so there’s a lot of positive news coming out of the brand.”

The Bruce Lynton Jaguar Land Rover showroom, which took 13 months to complete, covers three levels including a semi-enclosed rooftop customer car park that has a dedicated check-in counter.

The showroom can display up to 14 vehicles – five Jaguars and nine Land Rovers – compared with the previous Land Rover showroom that could display only six.

Mr Lynton said the showroom design is the result of careful coordination by both the Lynton family and Jaguar Land Rover Australia to ensure it fell within the brand’s strict guidelines.

The showroom and sales area has customer-focused facilities including a lounge with coffee station, café seating serviced by a fully-equipped kitchen, access to wi-fi, an internet bar and merchandise and accessories display.

Within the building is a 30 square metre boardroom with seating for 10 people while a lift and central staircase gives access between each floor.

Customers have five dedicated parking spaces and three bicycle bays at ground level, with an additional 33 spaces on the third floor and eight in the vehicle service area for customer and demonstrator vehicles.

The workshop has seven service bays, two programming bays and a further nine service bays in an adjoining workshop.

The dealership introduced the Jaguar brand to its 22-year-old Land Rover business in 2015 and a year later, sold its BMW and Mini franchises that it had operated for 42 years and 15 years, respectively.

Bruce Lynton also has sales and servicing for Tata (the parent of JLR) vehicles and has parts and servicing facilities for Ssangyong and Chery. It also has a successful motorsport division and is active in charities with more than $1.7 million donated through its annual charity ball.

JLR is also represented at Springwood in the north and at Coffs Harbour to the south of the Southport dealership.
