THE KPMG Enterprises Motor Industry Services team (MIS) has launched its long-awaited Automotive Intelligence Portal (AIP) which is now well into its pilot phase with three dealer groups on board and utilising the system.

The three dealer groups, whose names are confidential at this stage, represent small, medium and large dealerships. They have been working with KPMG to prove-up the data systems and software following an extensive development and a rigorous testing period.

AIP lead, Gary Ormond, told GoAutoNews Premium: “Release 1.0 is system-ready for client pilot dealers and is already securely in the hands of pilot dealer groups.

“The MIS team is now in a position to take on board further pilot dealers while we strengthen our team in anticipation of a full launch beyond the pilot phase in July 2019 – ready for the 2020 financial year.”

Dealers of all sizes are welcome to apply.

“The next few months will be spent in close collaboration with our pilot dealer groups to finetune and absorb the data and intelligence that drives their business outcomes,” Mr Ormond said.

“It will give us the opportunity to ensure the ease of applying the relevant intelligence into the portal and deliver the timely measure of actions and activities into our pilot dealerships and dealer groups.

“KPMG Enterprise Automotive Intelligence Portal (AIP) is everything we said it would be at the outset:

  • Our pilots currently have the ability to have their data seamlessly uploaded into the portal on a weekly basis, with daily uploads to be finalised over the coming months;
  • Department managers and owners have their own customisable dashboards capable of presenting all their financial and non-financial KPIs;
  • Some of the pilots have already produced their ‘Forecast for the 2019 Financial Year’ and are enjoying the vast suite of reports and dashboard widgets to let them know how they are performing against their 2019 plan;
  • Right now our pilots are able to host internal meetings with their group’s department managers using live data, throughout the month, using the eGroups module; and
  • With the ability to record action items, as well as meeting outcomes along with follow-ups and reminders, the business is able to maintain ownership and responsibility at all levels.”

Mr Ormond said that dealers using the portal will get “2020 vision” of their financials and how those financials correlate to their customer tracking data.

“Having this business intelligence 2020 vision at a management team’s fingertips is truly apt for the 2020 financial year,” he said.

Mr Ormond said that KPMG would soon begin to unfold at a generic level many of the insights some of their pilot dealers are enjoying through the AIP “as the dots between financial outcomes and non-financial actions and activities are joined”.

“We look forward to watching some of the decisions these pilot dealerships start making, having the benefit of all their dealership intelligence in one place,” he said.
