CHINESE SUV and ute manufacturer LDV has a new $500,000-plus service centre in Parramatta to service its growing customer base in western Sydney.

LDV Parramatta, part of the Ateco Automotive group that distributes the LDV brand in Australia, opened the 12-bay service centre in River Road West at a site that was previously Trivett’s Honda service premises, which has moved to Rydalmere.

The centre has undercover parking for customers, a waiting room with internet access, refreshments area and a view over the workshop.

LDV Parramatta dealer principal Ian Mason said the new centre was needed after strong demand for LDV products in Western Sydney.

“We had to dramatically increase our service and aftersales facilities to meet demand both for preparing new vehicles for customers and to meet servicing requirements,” he said.

“LDV sales growth in Western Sydney matches, if not exceeds, that (seen) right across Australia and we therefore needed a transformation in size of our customer service operation.”

Mr Mason said although the brand was moving into the family and recreational vehicle market, many of the customers used their LDV vehicle as a key business tool.

“Fast and efficient servicing is vitally important, along with being able to work while waiting for their vehicle,” said Mr Mason.

LDV sales are up 173.3 per cent to the end of March this year, driven by new SUV and ute models and by rising sales of its G10 people mover and van. It sold 521 units in March alone.
