Lexus of Toowoomba dealer principal Brett Motton

LEXUS has opened its second dealership on the east coast within a month with the Lexus of Toowoomba showroom in south-east Queensland.

It follows the opening of Lexus of Macarthur and the adjoining Clintons Toyota showroom in early February. Lexus plans another new dealership in Gosford later this year.

The Toowoomba dealership, built on the site of the Toyota showroom at 597 Ruthven Street, has been more than two years in planning and will serve a region of 300,000 people west of Brisbane.

The dealer principal is Brett Motton. The building, designed by CKD Architects, has two levels and a car lift.

Lexus of Macarthur was opened last month on a greenfields site at Gregory Hills. The dealership, and its adjoining Clintons Toyota, serves the greater western Sydney region of Camden.

In opening the dealership, Lexus of Australia chief executive Peter McGregor said the region contributes more than $80 billion to the economy each year “making it the third largest economy in Australia behind Sydney CBD and Melbourne”.

“With more than 240,000 businesses and an aspirational population that has out-stripped that of Sydney and NSW in the past decade, it is a natural fit for the Lexus brand,” he said.

The 8000 square metre site has direct access to the Hume Highway, M5 and M7 motorways.
