The dealership, operated by South Australian-based Australian Motors Group, coincides with Mahindra’s launch of two new SUVs, the Scorpio and the XUV700.
Australian Motors Group COO and dealer principal Dylan Nunn said: “We think the Adelaide market will fall in love with the new Mahindra SUV range.”
AMG, which started in 1952, has Suzuki, Isuzu Ute, Mazda and Mitsubishi franchises and the Adelaide 4×4 Outdoor centre.
The opening of the new dealership, which adjoins the Suzuki and Isuzu Ute showrooms, is a first for the brand in Adelaide.
It was officially opened this week by Mahindra Automotive Division CEO Veejay Ram Nakra who said that the company saw Australia “as an integral part of our growth plans.”
He said that the new dealership “will very much appeal to sophisticated metro customers who expect to experience a five-star driving experience.”
Mr Nunn, who has worked in the motor industry for more than two decades, said both new Mahindra models would exceed the expectations of Adelaide’s SUV buyers.
“Our customers are at the heart of everything we do,” he said. “Once potential buyers get behind the wheel, they will appreciate the high-tech and luxury inclusions that these cars deliver at an affordable price.”
Mahindra Australia national sales manager Russell Thiele said AMG’s longevity as a car retailer meant “they must be doing a lot of things right.”
“Australian Motors – like Mahindra – values honesty, integrity and quality – and that’s why this will be a great long-term partnership,” he said.
Mahindra Group was founded in 1945 and now has 260,000 employees in over 100 countries. It is involved in farm equipment, utility vehicles, information technology and financial services in India and is the world’s largest tractor company by volume.
It also has a strong presence in renewable energy, agriculture, logistics, hospitality, and real estate.
