MAZDA Australia has provided ongoing surety for Opera Australia by providing financial commitment for the extension of its 15-year partnership by an additional three years.

The support by Mazda will allow operatic events – including the annual free public concerts – to continue to 2021.

Events now assured of continuing include the free Mazda Opera in the Domain in Sydney and Mazda Opera in the Bowl in Melbourne, both now attracting enthusiastic audiences in record numbers.

Opera Australia CEO Rory Jeffes said the ongoing commitment by Mazda makes the partnership “one of the most enduring and successful in the Australian arts space”.

“Our shared values and common goals which align so well means we are able to deliver mutually beneficial outcomes for both companies,” he said.

“With Mazda’s support we are able to present some of the most exciting opera projects in the country with their major support of Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour, Opera on the Beach in Coolangatta and our musical productions.”

Mazda Australia managing director Vinesh Bhindi said his company had a long history of supporting the arts in Australia.

“We are thrilled to further extend our long-standing partnership with Opera Australia, and look forward to bringing more inspired performances and unforgettable experiences to Australian audiences across the country,” he said.
