MASERATI Australia has completed its plan to revitalise its dealer network with the opening this week of John McGrath Auto Group’s new showroom in Canberra.

The $14 million showroom in Melrose Drive in Phillip follows last month’s opening of Autosports Group’s new Maserati dealership on the Gold Coast, the brand’s second in Queensland after its existing Brisbane showroom.

Maserati Canberra was designed by Brian Foskett and built by Capcorp Construction. It features an Italian-designed interior with Maserati-specified fittings and furniture, and the latest workshop facilities.

John McGrath Maserati managing director John McGrath said the building was just the starting point.

“To achieve the full Maserati experience, the exclusivity, the dedication to detail, the unrivaled luxury, requires staff of the highest calibre and I believe we have brought together a team on both the sales and service sides that will make Maserati proud back in Italy,” he said.

“Under general manager Robert Janssen is a team of people who I know will redefine customer service in Canberra, be it the factory-trained technicians, our sales and marketing specialists and right down to how everyone has to know how to make the perfect Italian coffee!”

Maserati Australia, New Zealand and South Africa chief operating officer Glen Sealey said Canberra had a higher-than-average luxury-car ownership and was “a natural place for Maserati’s next expansion”.

Maserati has reported that it has increased its Australian sales six-fold over six years on the back of new models, especially its Levante SUV.
