NON-BANK asset finance lender Metro Finance has appointed Robert Foster and Wayne Gibson as business development managers for dealers in New South Wales and Queensland.
Mr Foster joins Metro to support dealer partners across NSW while Mr Gibson will lead dealer development throughout Queensland.
Both bring extensive experience in automotive and finance and will work on the ground to provide dealerships with fast decisions, direct access to Metro’s credit and settlements teams, and local support.
Mr Foster said: “Dealers are looking for a finance partner that’s genuinely easy to deal with, and that’s a real point of difference for Metro.
“I’m looking forward to getting out to dealerships across NSW and showing them what that looks like in practice.”
Mr Gibson said: “I’ve spent more than 25 years in auto finance, and what stands out about Metro is the service proposition.
“Dealers in Queensland want quick decisions and someone who picks up the phone. That’s what I’m looking forward to bringing to the market here.”
The appointments mark Metro’s accelerated expansion into the dealer finance market and follow Dane Drayton’s appointment as head of dealer earlier this year.
Metro Finance CEO David Albest said the appointments reflected the pace of the company’s growth.
“We’ve built a $6 billion loan book by combining smart technology with real people and exceptional service,” Mr Albest said.
“Dealer finance is a key growth area for us, and one we’re taking very seriously. As we expand into this market, our focus remains the same: helping our partners succeed.”
Mr Drayton said the team was focused on building a dealer offering centred on service, relationships and long-term partnerships.
“Dealers want a finance partner they can rely on – one that understands their business, responds quickly and helps them create better outcomes for customers,” he said.
“With Robert and Wayne on board, and further expansion planned in Victoria, we’re building a team that understands the realities of the dealership environment and is committed to delivering fast, reliable finance backed by local support.
“Our goal is simple: make it easier for dealers to do business and help more customers get behind the wheel.”
All three recently represented Metro Finance at the AADA Convention, meeting with dealers from across the country and providing an early preview of Metro’s dealer proposition ahead of the broader channel rollout.
Metro said it now expects to appoint a Victorian dealer BDM in the coming months as it continues building its national dealer network.
The move comes during a period of significant growth for Metro Finance, with the lender recently surpassing a $6 billion loan book milestone.
Established in 2011, Metro has provided more than $10 billion in lending to over 120,000 customers through its nationwide network of finance partners.
