MG MOTOR has added four new dealerships to its burgeoning list of outlets, as the Chinese-owned car-maker continues its plan to increase sales and cement its presence in new communities.

Dealerships have opened at Queanbeyan (NSW), Ringwood (VIC), Rockhampton (QLD), and Tweed Heads (NSW), bringing the national coverage to 16 and arming each with two SUVs – MG ZS and GS – and two hatchbacks in the MG3 and MG6 Plus.

MG Motor Australia senior manager Danny Lenartic said the focus was to work with “trusted dealer partners” to build the brand.

“We now have a strong pool of dealerships and after opening our first dealership in Western Australia (John Hughes Group), we are now expanding north and south on the east coast,” he said.

“John McGrath Group launched both Phillip and Woden MG in the ACT last year, now further demonstrating their trust in the brand by additional investment in the launch of Queanbeyan MG in NSW.”

Yarra Valley Motor Group has opened Ringwood MG in Victoria and dealer principal Danny Heffernan said the brand’s backing of SAIC Motor and the latest in technology “was the natural choice for us”.

Rockhampton Auto Group’s Greg Glyndwr, who is dealer principal of Rockhampton MG, said he had already experienced strong interest from the community of Rockhampton “and only expect to see this grow”.

Victory Organisation Group of Tweed Heads has added Victory MG and owner and dealer principal Victor Lapardin said: “As lifelong fans of the brand, we’ve closely watched the marque’s arrival into Australia, going from strength to strength. We’re delighted to be selected as a dealer partner for Tweed Heads.”
